In The Back of Your Mind

Ok. I admit it. Every now and then a Taylor Swift or Jason Aldean song makes it into my workday. I can't help it, you can take the boy out of the country but you can't take the country out of the boy. It's like herpes.

Well last week I made the mistake of listening to this Kellie Pickler song -

Kellie Pickler - Best Days Of Your Life (Official Music Video) - A funny movie is a click away

AND NOW IT WON'T GET OUT OF MY HEAD.

I've tried listening to equally annoying but catchy songs - "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "Take My Breath Away". I'm about 5 seconds from downloading "It's A Small World" and just ending it all.

At this point I would rather dump Draino down my earballs than have to hear this song in my head. I have contemplated playing Russian Roulette with a drill bit to the forehead.

IT. WON'T. GO. AWAY.

What do I do? I tried to have an indie-rock intervention with myself but it went no where. All the skinny jeans in the world couldn't help me now.

I turn to you, dear Readers. Help cure me of this affliction. What is a fool proof song that will be like a pry bar to this damn Kellie Pickler song?

If you could help me out it would be the "best day....the best day of my liiiiiiife..."

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The Subway Five-Dollar Footlong jingle.

Oh ... oh sorry, you actually wanted to regain your will to live?

Blast the Fresh Prince theme and have a few shots of whiskey. Truly that is the path of the righteous.

Earballs?

"It's a small world??" BAHAHAHAHA that would DEFINITELY solve the problem though!

just replace it with this:

I'm not even going to listen to it in order to better sympathize with you. It's not worth it.

Kellie Pickler?!

You deserve to be punished for that!

But, I'll give you a pass this one time.....try either 70's porn music or the Star Wars theme....that should do it.

Happens to me all the time. Let me know when you figure out a cure that doesn't involve Draino or drill bits.

I would give anything, literally anything, to see a video of you singing this song.

I can highly recommend two songs:

"Give me back that Filet-O-Fish"

..and anything by Nickelback.

But whatever happens, don't worry...be happy.

THREE! THREE SONGS!

I thought it was a cute song but it's not really the type to get stuck in my head. Sorry dude. Try 3OH!3 maybe?

I would strongly recommend Pink Floyd's "Brain Damage", but you really need a pair of headphones and some mind-altering substance for it to work.

Don't operate any heavy machinery.

I actually heard a song on the radio Saturday and was like "I really like this .. ." and then found out it was a new Nickelback song! AHHHHHHHH!!!!

Take a Forget-me-now. That should do the trick.

I'd never heard it before but I think it's a good song. It belongs in your head!

But ... if you really want it out of there, they say the trick is to sing or hum some of the song out loud. And it will be gone.

I have the theme song from The Lion King stuck in my head. It's just there, playing away and GOD MAKE IT STOP!!!

Ahem.

I'd like to help you, but I've got my own problems.

I absolutely love this video. Bonus fact - the song was originally written for Taylor Swift.

So its a two-fer! Woot woot!

first. i'd like to agree with jenn. pickler has very nice boobs. They make me think of really cool things like boobs and naked boobs.

second. 'come on eileen', 'take on me'; really, any 80's song that was catchy enough to make into either a punk or ska cover in the 90's should do the trick. the atari's or don henley's 'boys of summer' could work.

third. pickler/swift might be as hot as when robert palmer had all those chicks on the same sound stage playing instruments. maybe you could try a robert palmer song.

Maybe try another Kellie Pickler song? A little Red High Heels?!?!

This is an incredibly delicate case. I would not suggest the approach given by yourself or others, simply replacing th tune could be damaging.

I think you should embrace the song and country music, then slowly work your way out of the genre by finding decreasingly country bands. I suggest you use Kings of Leon as an end point. Good luck, you need it.

Awesome song. The best part?

"I've been told that a cheater is always a cheater; so i've got my pride and she's got youuuuuu"

I hope I got it stuck in your head AGAIN.

(haha)

I always get songs from musicals stuck in my head. I would rent A Chorus Line and see what happens. There's a great song about tits and ass that you might enjoy. Its titled, "Tits and Ass."

Jill - There may be a song called "Tits and Ass", but you'll never find it searching on that phrase. 1 million hits with quotes. 5 million hits without. Who sings it?

Great. I made the mistake of listening to that song and now it's ringing in my ears.

This is why I didn't press play. Backstreet Boys are bad enough as my addiction

Here is a song that is GUARANTEED to edge out kellie and taylor -- Hide & Seek by Imogen Heap/the "rap" song that samples it called Whatcha Say:

Mmmm what you say,
oh that you only meant well?
Well of course you did.
Mmmm what you say,
oh that it's all for the best,
of course it is.

And now I will be hearing this in my head for the rest of the week...but at least it's not Kellie Pickler.

I really hope you're not still dealing with this.

I recently had "Whoomp! There it is!" by Tag Team stuck in my head for a month. I even resorted to Debbie Gibson to try to get it out (that was a disaster).

Next time, I'd suggest "Jane Fonda" by Mickey Avalon. You can thank me later.
