Modern Manvels

The Lady Friend and the Friends of the Lady Friend have decided it is "cute" to refer to me as the "Modern Man".

She points out the fact that I grew up farming, like to swear, have no fashion sense and still sometimes get really quiet when there are big boobies on the TV...

...is offset by the fact that I own an espresso pot, have gotten in actual arguments with her over accent colors and have been found watching What Not To Wear under a blanket with a bowl full of ice cream on occasion.

But it was manly ice cream. Rocky Road, bitch.

So what are some of the less..."testicular" activities that you / your Guy Friend / Some Guy You Know That You Sometimes Do Things That You Don't Tell Your Friends About (sorry to put a title on it, I know you didn't want to get serious) - what are some girly things your guy does?

One of my best guy friends watches "One Tree Hill" almost religiously.

My boyfriend watches "Greek" every week. And he's 6'3" and runs from birds.

He watches "Tool Academy," "Teen Mom," and any other reality show on MTV or VH1.

My boyfriend was sad because we only had an hour to hang out in between our separate plans so I used 50 minutes to have sex with him. He was all bummed that we only talked for 10. He also owns more chick flicks than me. If The Princess Bride is a chick flick then I own...one.

i don't have "a guy" - thanks for reminding me.

jerk.

He watches The Vampire Diaries and argued with a 13 year old about vamps vs warewolves. I almost got up and left him there with the 13 year old.

Katelyn, Tool Academy rulez! It gives me something to point to whenever my girl starts giving me crap about something. . . . "at least I'm not as bad as these guys". Plus, Cryin' Tool is a train-wreck . . . I want to look away, but his crying face is so ridonkulous and it emerges so instantaneously that I just can't!

Well I used to get Dean to watch the Bachelor with me and Music and Lyrics. Yep. :)

And I'm with Alexa, Thanks for reminding me I don't have a guy!

And in college my boyfriend would record "Dawson's Creek" and watch it with me when I would get back from class or after we got home from drinking on Friday or Saturday. haha!! He would tell his frat buddies that he was recording it for me though, but he actually liked the show better than I did!!

I like participating in "testicular" activities.

I call that my usual Saturday night.

That's not what you were referring to?

Oh.

Uh.

I have no man currently (that shit's about to change so get ready!), but my ex liked to take long walks on the beach.

Yes, he was a walking cliche.

He watches chic flics with me and cries like a girl. I always have to bring the Kleenex and have doubted that I maybe a sociopath cause chick flicks just don't make me cry, but I still watch them though, just to remind me why I don't watch them.

Fine!! I saw the Notebook and cried too. Geeezzz.

He wears pink sometimes. And he told me he wouldn't watch The Blind Side with me because he didn't want me to see him cry.

he takes baths. even though he's 6'3" and doesn't fit comfortably in the tub.

My guy watches "Grey's Anatomy" every week. For serious. I can't stand that show.

And I think he's a little more label-whoreish than I am. He likes good clothes, but thankfully knows nothing about WOMEN'S fashion. LOL He's worthless when I need help!

He swirls his wine and talks about its "nose," which isn't really girly, but it's sissy anyway and I'd like it to stop lest he be bitchslapped.

Sometimes, you and B are so alike it's scary.

Yes, I am that creepy person on the internet who thinks I *know* you.

I play it well, though.

I like my men have a bit of feminine side haha I used to test guys a lot by asking them to watch stuff like ANTM or Glee with me..or out for girly stuff like frozen yogurt or aromatherapy massage somewhere. If he can handle it, he's a winner.

My hubby just bought his first pink shirt from JCrew, and I think I'm turned on by fuel cells and Diesel cars (ha!)

The b/f takes longer to shop than I do. HOURS longer.

We talk about the BS we watch on the Hills and Jersey Shore. He is more into the gossip than I.

He is not “my guy” but he does get silly about how much he loves his pet- even calls himself daddy. This makes me smile. I don’t know if guys are so different from girls. Sure there are something that are “guy-things” and some things that are “girl-things” but at the end of the day we just want to do a few things that make us feel better about the world, or at lest that let us express ourselves as being just a little bit different from the people around us.

Haha! My husband watches What Not To Wear with me!

And he uses my women's shaving cream instead of men's. And he uses my expensive shampoo and conditioner because he says it smells better.

And he is terrified of flying bugs.

My fiance (currently in basic training, keep in mind) sings Lady Gaga.. with 50 other guys in his bay.
Question in mind: Which ones might be on the verge of gay-ness?
Question NOT in mind: Shou8ld I be worried?
Main question: Where in the hell are all these women who get there men so whipped like I do to get there guys to actually know the lyrics to Lady Gaga?! I thought I was alone on the planet!

I randomly sing 'When Doves Cry' by Prince.

Don't judge. Guy is an awesome guitarist.

Sometimes when she's playing music, I'll just start dancing. But I'm a really bad dancer so she tells me to stop, so I...

keep dancing.
