Slow Down

Grandma Nomina (my Mom) to my nephew, talking about his 5th birthday - You are growing up so fast! I can't believe you are going to be 5 tomorrow!

Nephew - I know, Grandma! I'll be 5 but I already feel like I'm 6.

My nephew, apparently wise beyond his years.

5 is the new 30.

I have no idea what that means.

I'm dissapointed by the word count of this post.

What am I supposed to do to waste time now?

I imagine your nephew sighing and adjusting his necktie as he says this.

Adorable.

I bet he'll feel 21 when he turns 18, too. :-)

45 is the new 12... I haven't matured since then and I like it that way.

He'll start counting backwards someday... that's my plan in like, two years anyway.

My niece is "free" (3). We are celebrating my dad's birthday this weekend and she is POSITIVE that Papa wants sprinkles and a bike on his cake.

Someone in the family had to come out wise because we certainly know you didn't :)

Haha, JK, but seriously Narm, I haven't said something mean to you in a VERY long time and it was VERY overdue. The whole "lets be nice to each other" is totally overrated.

PS I was very sad to see your blog on Alexa's page MIA, but very glad I am a blog stalker and read it before it got taken down!

This almost made me want to have a kid. Then I realized kids need to be "fed" and "loved" and stuff and the whole idea just exhausted me.

My nephew is a genius too. Last week we were shopping at Office Max and he said, "Man, life sucks!" I asked him why and he replied, "you just never have enough money. you think you have enough, but it just never gets you what you want and that makes you miserable."

So young, yet so right.

Once my (then) 6-year-old said, "Oh I remember Memphis Kiddie Park. I was there years ago."

Now she's 12 and sassy.

Have fun with your nephew!
